Watching C-span this morning and I saw Ron Paul questioning Ben Bernanke. Paul seems to make a solid argument for going back to a pre-1971 system of asset backed reserve currency. Not entirely sure what to make of the video, but it seems interesting to hear comments like Paul's in this economic climate. I doubt there is much traction for the idea in the public. However that may be due to a lack of understanding of what exactly our economy is based on.
