Jewish Hate Group Calls Patriotic Grass Roots Organizations Un-American

Okay, so the title of this blog article is extreme. It draws your attention to the piece. And that's precisely what I wanted out of this.

In their continued efforts to subdue the white American male and those who support him in his goals, the Anti-Defamation League has labeled two organizations of identical purpose and similar origin as "extremist" and "anti-government". Their article, Oath Keepers and Three Percenters, reads with a bias that is cloying. Since it has so many features of a propaganda piece, we cannot rely on it to glean any truth from the article. And the only inspection possible that will allow us any truth would be to consult the groups targeted therein the piece.

After telling us where the first national conference of the OathKeepers took place and for how long it lasted, it then, the skeptic observer assumes, under reports the scale of attendance by commenting that only 100 people attended. Because of what follows in their article, this statistic can only be verified by the testimony of those who were there. The article then audaciously reports, with no supportable evidence, that the group is much smaller in membership than the declaration of an OathKeeper boardmember who advanced the number 2,000 in counting the tally of dues-paying members.

What follows is political language phrased to elicit apathy from the reader. In understanding that people sympathize more with veterans over lawyers, the ADL carefully chooses to describe OathKeeper's founder Stewart Rhodes as a lawyer instead of a disabled U.S. Army paratrooper. In this respect, this is beneficial to the ADL who want nothing more than for ignorant Americans to believe patriotism equals treasonous extremism.

Editorially, the ADL contemptuously eludes with disdainful pride that in refusing to obey suspected unlawful commands by traitors in all branches and at every level of government, the Oathkeepers' members should be restrained to strap-belted gurneys for their own mental-health protection. It was not hard for the author of this blog article to decipher their encoded message. Look at the following excerpt below in blockquote for yourself.

The Oath Keepers encourage members of the military and law enforcement to pledge not to follow certain hypothetical "orders" from the federal government. These "orders," including one "to put American citizens in detention camps," and another "to disarm the American people," echo longstanding conspiracy theories embraced by anti-government extremists, who claim that the U.S. government is creating a police state. The Oath Keepers try to appeal to military and law enforcement personnel by reminding them that they swore an oath to defend the Constitution "from all enemies, foreign and domestic," and suggesting that now is the time to live up to that oath by resisting an allegedly tyrannical government.

"Allegedly tyrannical government," "echoing longstanding conspiracy theories embraced by anti-government extremists," is the type of political language used to slanderously and libelously assail American patriots in the public arena when trying to engage in serious discourse about topics they feel need to be discussed.

Their vials of poison still not empty yet, the ADL shoots their guns again twice more at American patriot Stewart Rhodes. First they suggest in language not so subtle that the picture of an Oath Keepers patch on an active-duty serviceman's arm sleeve is a fraud. Second, by brazenly accusing OathKeepers and ThreePercent as being organizations formed by extremists and opportunists capitalizing on the discontented masses unhappy with having a black President. But one must ponder if there are so many discontented over the President's blackness, how did Barack Obama rally enough votes to launch him into office?

Republicans Adopt Ron Paul's Message With Something Missing

A friend sent me this article in email. And I had to post it. But first I have to point something out before I duplicate the story with the link provided afterward. I'm developing this sense that a lot of conservatives are flocking to Glenn Beck's side to sit at his feet and learn the Wisdom of the Elders, if I may be allowed to be so dramatic. And I'll admit that Beck has recently scored points with me even in his exposé of the dedicated communists in Obama's Administration. But I have to wonder how much of this heavy investigation into the Obama's Administration by the conservative journalists has to do with their disappointment in the loss of a Republican victory in the 2008 elections.

They certainly weren't this critical with the Bush Administration like Ron Paul had been, but Republicans do tend to hate liberal Democrats more than the State. After witnessing the popularity of Ron Paul, the conservatives and their counterpart journalists are desperately trying to win back disenfranchised voters who went with Paul and similarly minded candidates. Glenn Beck recently made an attempt at being more Ron Paul friendly by writing a modern version of Thomas Paine's famous tract, Common Sense. Only the gullible are going to fall for this disingenuous pandering.

The Fox News Judas goats never cease to amaze me. The article follows:

Trouble is it won't work! One must do more than study the words of another in order to embrace a new philosophy. Beck, Palin, Romney even Ann Coulter are all now sounding like avid Ron Paul supporters, although seldom giving credit where it is due.

Glen Beck has been making headlines for himself recently by denouncing the Republican party and making statements that he would have voted for Hillary Clinton over McCain. He even went so far as to draft five pledges a candidate should make in order to show himself "for the people". However, a close inspection of these pledges reveals that either Beck does not "get it" or he is a spokesman for the current Republican party which is desparate to regain its conservative support.

Upon reflection, one will notice that underneath Beck's pledges is an assumption that the government should be "in control" but has simply erred and gone off course. Notice the repeated use of the word "until". Once the necessary corrections have been made, the government can take its rightful place back in the seat of power and control. This logic is faulty at its core. Politicians are elected to manage the public's trust, not to be "in charge'. Regardless of common perception and celebrity worship, civil servants are to be just that: servants. Most politicians are keenly aware of this during elections but suffer amnesia immediately thereafter.

The most revealing of the 5 pledges is the last. "I believe the United States of America is the greatest country on earth and therefore will not apologize for policies or actions which have served to free more and feed more people around the world than any other nation on the planet." This statement is arrogant and ethnocentric at best. Of course one should believe strongly in his country and maintain a certain amount of patriotic pride. This statement, however, is dangerous. It is the essence of Republican "big government".

Whenever one places an agenda above the people it is meant to serve, no matter how noble the intentions, he then ventures off of the ground of freedom and liberty and into the region of totalitarianism and authoritarianism. If one holds the fundamental belief that the people need the government to "take care of" them, to "protect" them, to "regulate" them and to "enforce" morality, agendas and ideals, then he will always revert back to his particular party of choice. The fact is, that while we must have laws to address fraud, abuse and corruption, the less government we have the more liberty we will possess.

While Beck's pledges address the present concerns of government spending, taxation, environmental regulations and security, which are typical concerns during a Democratic administration, he fails to address the manipulation by corporate interests and corporate influenced legislation. One must remember that the stimulus and bailout programs began under the Bush administration. Most politicians, including Obama himself are sponsored heavily by major corporate interests. This goes far beyond lobbying. The direct connection through board membership and corporate earnings between politicians in both parties and major financial interests is totally obscene. In fact, Gerald Celente defines it as the essence of fascism.

Ron Paul's message is simple, People First! While the Republicans may be attempting to co-opt this message they continue to cling to their agendas of war, federal empowerment and bribery. The co-dependent media anchors and authors have a vested interest in contributing to the party's success. After all, they have built a career around it.

Ron Paul is the litmus test, the standard. His message has been the same for over thirty years. His funds are supplied by his constituents. He maintains a simple lifestyle and he defends the Constitution whether it is popular or not, regardless of personal gain. We need to do what is right for America! We need liberty for all, justice for all, respect for all. What we do not need from our government is patronization, control and co-dependence. Government is meant to be servant, not master!

The outcome of the push for globalization is a severe decline in the median standard of living in the US and an erosion of those individual liberties and freedoms which has made the US somewhat unique on the vast historical sweep of world history.

Few understand this. One cannot be completely sovereign when the push for 'competitiveness' is used to consistently erode the commitment to individual freedom.

David Rockefeller, and Sam Walton, and Bill Gates, looked at the social and economic structure of the People's Republic of China and saw the new American paradigm. Not in the evolution of China to democracy and freedom, but in the subjugation of the United States to huddled masses docilely wearing the yoke of debt subservience to the ruling elite.

Too much speculation in this? The pattern of behaviour of those who promote this canard of globalism is too obvious to ignore.

The banks must be restrained and balance must be restored before a sustained economic recovery can be achieved.

Blacklisted by History - The Untold Story of Senator Joe McCarthy

I just recently purchased this book - Blacklisted by History: The Untold Story of Senator Joe McCarthy - and I recommend it.

I checked in the index and did not see Eustace Mullins listed. Odd, considering Mullins was McCarthy's personal research assistant. You would figure someone like M. Stanton Evans, historian that he is, would've came across Eustace Mullins in his research. Mullins himself has been writing a biography of his very own on the Late Great Senator, reportedly. I have not been able to get my hands on a copy of it myself and do not know the status of its publication.

I've read a few chapters of this book before through the local library. I remember that when I read it I developed the feeling that M. Stanton Evans was under the impression that the Cold War was an actual threat to America's national security. Of course, I'm going to have to reread the chapters I've already read and then read the rest of the chapters so that I can get a complete understanding.

I know that Eustace Mullins would disagree with Evans if Evans argued that the Cold War was real. Mullins wrote a piece on the Cold War and explained how it was a fraud concocted by those who were of the employ of the Federal Reserve, which I plan to reprint here in the future.

Joe Stiglitz writes an important essay, and it is suggested that you take the time to read it. It helps to explain many of the things we have been saying, including the forecast that 'a new school of economics will rise from the ashes of this crisis, as Keynesianism rose from the Great Depression.'

These are changes of an historic nature, and as such they will progress slowly, and be largely unnoticed by those going about their daily business.

Glenn Beck's Guilt By Association Charge

This is just amazing, although not unexpected. Glenn Beck has proved himself (not that he needed to with me) incredible.

This is one of the recent great gifts the mainstream media has been given in terms of having something to use for purposes of illegitimizing the patriotism of Americans who are concerned about the state of liberty in their country.

Yes, James von Brunn is a 9/11 Truther. He's a member of the Justice for 9/11 Petition for a New 9/11 Investigation, according to Screw Loose Change.

For anyone who doesn't know, James von Brunn has garnered some attention in the press recently for opening fire at the Holocaust Museum in Washington, D.C. I'm not going to reprint the story here for purposes of brevity. Although I do encourage many to read as many different pieces on the story as you can find from differing news outlets to see how each one portrays James von Brunn differently.

James von Brunn is also known for making an attempted kidnapping on several members of the Federal Reserve Board in 1981, another tidbit of information I'm sure the mainstream media will love to use in their arguments that anyone who opposes the Federal Reserve is an antisemite.

The only reason Glenn Beck is arguing that it's okay to be against the Federal Reserve is more than likely because Jewish economist Ludwig von Mises said that it was okay. Von Mises never told us who owned the Fed and neither has Lew Rockwell.

And this is why magnifying von Brunn's incident is so important: to imply that if you're against the Federal Reserve and believe that 9/11 was an inside job, you're a Holocaust denier who wants to commit acts of violence.

I do have to wonder though how much of this was a choreographed publicity stunt. This is a gift that falls right into the hands of the ADL who are pushing for hate speech legislation and liberal Democrats who believe in gun control.

With one story, how many millions of Americans now fear that it's 1930s Germany ALL OVER AGAIN?

Accusing 9/11 Truthers of wanting to tear the country down is unconscionable and its slander and Glenn Beck should be taken to court over it. It's character assassination.

I'm sorry. I'm just not a boot-licking state worshiper. Too S&M for me I guess.

Alex Jones and Jews in the Media

So Jason Bermas says that the world isn't ran by "Hook-nosed people don't run the world in some kind of cave while they suck the blood out of babies in some weird ritual you believe in."

While not all of them are hook-nosed (are any of them hook-nosed?), and I have yet to find a researcher who believe they operate from "some kind of cave", there is some legitimacy to the argument that they do "run the media."

My only problem here is how Ron Paul doesn't give the Gold Anti-Trust Action Committee a shout-out! Is he not aware of them? He was re-elected to Congress in 1997. Being a member of the Oversight Committees, he would've received a copy of their book, Gold Derivative Banking Crisis.

Come on, Ron. You're the man! Speak up!

Last Night's Get Together

Last night, I attended a local meeting that had been organized by Mr. Larry A. Hunt of Catawba, VA. Clearly this was not the first meeting they had scheduled since I was considered a first-time attender, but while I was there I met many great contributors.

The location of these meetings may vary from time to time but the timing is every Second Tuesday of each month.

"InfoWarrior" Jason Bermas: Jew Critics Are "Anti-Semites" Who Should Hang Or Electrocute Themselves

Before I begin, I'd like to get something out of the way.

Buzz words like "anti-semite", "anti-semitic", "Jew-hate", "Jew-hater" are terms designed for the political purpose of stifling debate. There has been designed into these terms by educational conditioning a certain negative connotated weight meant to infer or to imply certain associative thoughts that lead the student to politically-desirable conclusions. It serves the purpose well, for when someone starts looking into the Jewish/Zionist angle of the World Order conspiracy the prejudice says that they must be "Holocaust deniers". Of course "Holocaust denier" is also one of those buzz words used as a means to communicate to people that those who question the Holocaust are "anti-Semites" who "hate Jews". David Cole doesn't believe the Holocaust occurred and he's Jewish. Oh, right. Nevermind. He's a "self-hating Jew".

I consider the following minutes a gift to me, provided in the video I posted in this blog post below my commentary. The minutes could not have transpired more beautifully. Jason Bermas proves, without my help, his unreliability as a Truth Seeker. He proves that as a researcher he has a fixed agenda. I would say he's a disinformation agent. If by now no one knows who he is, he's part of the trio team that produced Loose Change.

There's a lot of credible evidence to build the argument that Jews have a significant role to play in determining the political message that is produced out of Hollywood and the contexts of the reports in the corporate news media.

Jason Bermas makes no attempt to prove that the caller who phoned into the show is wrong about these claims. He just says that it's "not a Jewish conspiracy" and that he should "get over it." "Hook-nosed people don't run the world in some kind of cave while they suck the blood out of babies in some weird ritual you believe in."

Jason Bermas throws out the unsubstantiated allegation that the caller or anyone else who happens to agree with the caller believes that all Jews are "hook-nosed people." The well-trained emotional knee-jerk reaction most, if not all, people have to this kind of taboo discussion is to assume that the speaker is of course talking about every single Jew that has lived, is alive, and will be born in the future when no previous quantification existed. The caller did not say "some Jewish people", "most Jewish people", or even "all Jewish people". The caller just happened to say "the Jewish people."

Sweeping generalizations are made benignly about all kinds of groups of people ranging from those people who listen to emo music to those who have sexually active lifestyles and everybody in between. But the tirades only launch when one makes a casual inference - a generalization - about a race, an ethnic group, women, et cetera. It is the imagination of the critics who should be credited with assuming a generalization is pigeon-holing "every single one." Making the statement "gays are into anal sex" does not mean that every gay man likes giving it and/or taking it. And when has there been any conspiracy researcher looking into the Jewish/Zionist angle that believed Jews run the world from a cave? Also, I certainly don't believe every Jew is "hook-nosed". Jason Bermas is certainly not hook-nosed and neither is Dylan Avery.

Next, Bermas goes on to mention that the World Order conspiracy is comprised of participants of all religious backgrounds, all races, and all creeds. But wait a minute. Alex Jones wants us to believe that the World Order is ran by elite white racists who belong to Germanic nazi death cults. Little understood to Alex Jones and his Crew of Jew is that the term Nazi is the compromised derivative of National Socialism and Zionism. The "Na" part of Nazi is National Socialism and the "zi" part of Nazi is "Zionism". This is because Nazism is the combination of two different political philosophies whose students figured out how to benefit greatly by combining their efforts. (ref. Eustace Mullins)

More bizarrely, Webster Tarpley in Jones' latest documentary, The Obama Deception, referred to the World Order conspiracy as primarily an "Anglo-American Empire" when most of the people at the top of the pyramid are Jewish bankers who own the stock of the Bank of England and the Federal Reserve!

Jason's next move is to call for extermination through population control of those who believe that Jews run the world. He erroneously conflates hating Jews to hating all minorities. He then makes the claim that he's somehow not of any particular ethnicity, a biological impossibility if there ever was one!!! In fact, he claims that with a little bit of lighting technique he can be made to look like any ethnicity!!

Bermas's next charge is that the caller is discrediting the "movement" by arguing Jewish domination in the media. What movement? The movement of sheep being deceptively led to the slaughterhouse by Jewish Zionist sheepherders? There's a difference between an InfoWarrior and a Truth Seeker. An InfoWarrior is someone who follows and parrots everything Alex Jones says and a Truth Seeker realizes Alex Jones is a disinformation agent. After all, isn't it a bit strange how the American Broadcasting Company allows Alex Jones to borrow their satellites for his radio show? And besides I'm sure with Jews in such dominant positions at the Genesis Communications Network Alex Jones signed a contract stipulating that he couldn't talk about the Jews.

And I love how these media celebrity conspiracy researchers always act like they're the first ones to uncover it all. They make these cases to become self-appointed leaders in the "truth movement". Eustace Mullins was the first one to write the book exposing the Federal Reserve as a fraud, but Alex Jones and his Crew of Jew promote G. Edward Griffin instead. He tries to discredit this claim but his own credibility evaporates when he turns an about-face and says that he has Jewish friends. Yes, of course, he does. Dylan Avery is one of them. No wonder the Loose Change film never touches upon the Israeli foreknowledge and involvement. They're protecting them!!

By the way, isn't Alex Jones married to a Jew? Violet Jones is not her real name! Her real name is Kelly Rebecca Nichols. Her father is Edward Lowe Nichols and her mother is Sandra Kay Heiligman. But he continues to deny that his wife is Jewish.

In the following video around the 8 minutes mark Alex Jones makes two very conflicting statements.

Statement #1: "My wife's not Jewish."

Statement #2: "In my wife's...you know...zzhh...you know...off on one side of her family they did have some Jewish relatives from Poland..."

Well, which is it, Alex? Is your wife Jewish or not? He goes on to say that it doesn't really matter since he has had the ADL attack him in the past. This really isn't much of an argument since the concept of "controlled opposition" is built on leading the opposition. How many sponsors does Alex Jones have that are Jewish? I would think that would factor in to his reporting. He had Eustace Mullins on his radio program only once and I bet his sponsors threatened to pull their support if he had him on his show again. Alex Jones would've become another Morton Downey, Jr.

But back to the origianl topic at hand here. Bermas then makes the most shocking statement of all. He argues that if you happen to be asking the "Jewish question" you should take a toaster oven, plug it into your bathroom's electrical socket and take a bath with it. Its these oversensitive defense positions that make "antisemites" think that the Jews control the world's resources and want to maintain their control over others with total impunity.

I added two new links. One of them is Market Ticker, a site that I haven't looked into but an article written from it was sent to me in an email which I will be using in a future blog article post. The next one, Naked Capitalism, Jesse's other blogspot. With other bloggers contributing to that blog, they've built up the most impressive record of posting I've ever seen. In 2008 alone, they garnered a total of 2,143 posts.

Addressing Zeitgeist. By Way of Deception, Thou Shalt Do War

In preparing my response to the counterargument made by Edward L Winston and Pat @ Screw Loose Change about the Federal Reserve System, I wanted to clarify my position on the documentary Zeitgeist that is the subject of the debunking.

Zeitgeist, as a source for information, is not to be trusted. Peter Joseph is a fraud who has been attacked even by Alex Jones, a frequent victim himself of attacks by people like the blog authors of SLC.

My biggest gripe with Joseph, aside from him being the vassal for the Venus Project, an anarcho-communist program which delivers the world into the hands of the Illuminati by advertising them as the saviors of the world, is the source he uses for his argument against the Federal Reserve. The Fed whose currency ironically funded the production of this documentary.

Be careful, debunkers, I didn't say the Federal Reserve financed the film. I said its currency did.

In his source list, Peter Joseph used for his film a rip-off book written by establishment journalist William Greider who wrote for Rolling Stone. The book is called Secrets of the Temple: How the Federal Reserve Runs the Country.

In an interview with Tom Valentine, Mullins discredited Greider as a source to be trusted. Mullins revealed:

when Simon and Schuster put out a rip-off of my book called Secrets of the Temple: The Federal Reserve, they even stole my title. And they sold 300,000 of 'em. And Forbes magazine reviewed it and said, "This book has no secrets." William Greider, who was a Washington editor of Rolling Stone, an establishment journalist, actually wrote this book. And he "pooh-poohed" any conspiratorial notion that there had ever been a meeting at all.

Another citation in Joseph's sources is another book on the Fed, but strangely not the one Mullins wrote. This one is The Creature From Jekyll Island written by child actor G. Edward Griffin. Mullins has argued that as punishment for drawing back the curtain that reveals who the conspirators are, the World Order financed countless plagiarizations. Coming from Mullins, this isn't an extreme argument. He was followed relentlessly by the FBI -- spied on -- for 33 years. Mullins documents this in his book A Writ for Martys. The cross dressing homosexual, FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover, revealed in Mullins' book, ordered the government to abduct Mullins and place him in a mental ward where he would remain in perpetuity. Thankfully, their terror campaign launched against this aging patriot never achieved success.

Peter Joseph is a disinformation agent. There's no other conclusion to draw. If he was honest he wouldn't have mucked up the Federal Reserve argument by associating it with ecumenicalism and humanism. He provides enough truth to lure the gullible in and then snatches the observer away into the World Order. And what truths he does provide are made in very weak arguments.

Search Querries Yield Attempts to Debunk the Federal Reserve Conspiracy

Everyone by now who has read this blog faithfully knows I have a fascination with the Federal Reserve System and its relative topics (i.e. 16th Amendment, tax law, IRS, the Constitution, Ron Paul, Eustace Mullins, etc). Because I am so fascinated with the topic and have clearly voiced my informed opinions about the Federal Reserve Conspiracy, I am also well aware there are those who try to debunk the claims. These people fail miserably. Their arguments are laughable.

Recently I've been paying attention to Screw Loose Change: The Blogspot. The authors of this blogspot pride themselves in debunking the 9/11 Conspiracy Theories, so I wanted to know if they covered anything beyond that. My field of interest is, of course, the Federal Reserve System. I did a search: "Eustace Mullins" "Federal Reserve" "Ron Paul". Not surprisingly, the search querries yielded the typical tired warn out arguments that keep popping up like the puppets in a game of Whack-A-Mole! Once you knock down one of their arguments, another one pops up. When this fails them, they resort to name calling and deliberate misrepresentation.

I don't endorse her because she's an excuser of the crimes committed by the Bush Administration, but before you talk to these types of people consider some of the valuable lessons in Ann Coulter's instruction manuel (How to Talk to A Liberal (If You Must). ) and apply your arguments accordingly. Her one redeeming feature is her defense of Senator McCarthy, possibly the greatest Republican Senator that ever lived.

The "Federal Reserve" search querry yielded Pat's recommendation to read Conspiracy Science's Dissertation on why critics of the Federal Reserve are wrong. The kind of flawed logic-cum-flawed arguments is prevelent in the Anti-American Party.

I'm going to catch a lot of hellfire for the term "Anti-American" but when I scroll down to read another post related to the search querry I find the following:

By no means do all believers in either the “Illuminati” or demonized “bankers” hate Jews. Many do not. Some are even Jews themselves. However, these ideologies are historically intertwined with and closely parallel classic Jew-hating myths. For example, some anti-Illuminists have claimed that the Protocols of the Elders of Zion, a notorious anti-Jewish forgery, is entirely true and accurate if you just substitute “Illuminati” for “Jews.” And a lot of the rhetoric we’ve been hearing in the alternative media about the Federal Reserve System is derived from writings such as Secrets of the Federal Reserve by Eustace Mullins, a notorious Jew-hater who also believed that Jews ritually kill Christian children. Speaking of ritual murder, there’s also the “Satanic Ritual Abuse” scare, which often goes hand-in-hand with anti-Illuminism.

I emboldened parts of the quote shown above because I wanted to ask a few questions. 1) If the Protocols of the Elders of Zion are a forgery, then what happened to the original copy that the plagiarized copy is committing forgery against? and 2) does calling Eustace Mullins a Jew-hater constitute character assassination since the term carries a deliberately negative connotation? Because if so then I think Mullins should bring a libel suit against this NYCActivist. He's brought lawsuits against the United States government so many times he's probably scheduled to appear in court tomorrow.

My final comment is this: the opposite of anti-Illuminism is pro-Illuminism. The use of this word here insinuates we should be supporting the Illuminati, a traitorous suggestion to anyone who believes in America and the Constitution. And yes, there have been Jews who believe in the Illuminati. Myron Fagan, anyone? Fagan was Eustace's earliest supporter.

Benjamin Freedman is also another Jew -- sorry Ben -- "former Jew" as Freedman referred to himself as. Freedman and Mullins shared a really close friendship. Mullins even lived with Freedman. Guido Roeder is also another Jew who used his own money to promote the work of Eustace Mullins.

I'll be debunking the Federal Reserve "debunkers" in another post. Their arguments are too ridiculous to patronize here.

Lee Harvey Oswald Was Innocent. And Here's Why

This is pretty easy to figure out.

It cannot be argued that Lee Harvey Oswald was guilty of assassinating President John F. Kennedy. Why? Because he's not alive to defend himself and under the Constitution private citizens are considered innocent until they have been proven guilty. You have a right to a fair and speedy trial, you have a right to an attorney if you cannot afford one, you have a right to have your case heard before a jury of your peers, and you have a right to know what the charges are that have been brought against you.

Even if someone were to make the convincing argument that Lee Harvey Oswald did indeed murder Dallas Police Officer J. D. Tippit, that in no way establishes his guilt in the crime of assassinating Kennedy. Jack Ruby ended Oswald's life before he ever went to trial. There's something wrong about convicting a dead, and therefore defenseless, man.

While being interviewed by the press, Oswald said that he hadn't been charged with the murder of President Kennedy. Oswald mentions that all he knew was the charges of murdering a policeman (Tippit), but his statement is somewhat drowned out by background noise.

How government is regarded by the public has changed in this country. During the time of its founding, our founders believed that government was a wild untameable beast that had to be held down by the "chains of the constitution" because it wasn't something to be trusted. It wasn't as if they believed government was ineffective because it was comprised of bumbling idiots. They believed that government was corrupt because so many of its employees fell prey to the temptation of intoxifying power.

Government is the aphrodisiac of the mind that provides the ego its mojo and enables the power mad megalomaniac the title of tyrant. But because the American people have forgotten this precious lesson by state-engineered apathy, a culture of dependency has been borne out by the welfare/warfare state that the politicians in Washington promise to the ignorant massess will provide them with shelter, sustenance, and protection.

It is because of this our culture has produced people like Nancy Grace of CNN who believe instead that it is the private citizen who is guilty until proven innocent. This is a prejudice that better serves the public by reallocating it to government.

Conspiracy debunkers always like to argue that the burden of proof rests upon those who bring allegations of crime and conspiracy against government. But they forget to tell us, perhaps for purposes of gain, that the same critical thinking methods we use to conclude that JFK's death was the result of conspiracy are the same ones used to conclude that the Nazis exterminated the Jews.

For an example of their faulty logic in practice: the burden of proof of a conspiracy to exterminate the Jews rests on the Jews themselves.

This is a classic example of tyranny in practice. One doesn't need to prove that the interests of the fox are nowhere to be found in protecting the henhouse. And like that policemen's line of old: you have nothing to fear from an investigation if you are innocent.

So it comes as no surprise and shouldn't be that much a stretch of the imagination to see the conspiracy debunker as a cheerleader for the authoritarian state -- a cheerleader for slavery.

Interesting piece over at Alternet, by Joshua Holland, where he wonders whether or not America will eventually get fed up enough with the current economic crisis to actually start doing something tangible about it. I don't believe he's encouraging a violent response from citizens, just kind of questioning why there hasn't been one. And it's a good question, with the economy crumbling before our eyes, why hasn't there been a more organised response. Maybe there was, a large part of Obama's victory in the election was due to the economy being crap. That's really not the same as revolution though. Holland says that the American public has been cowed to such a degree that an overt response to government failings just aren't possible in this country. I believe him. This country deals in fear better than most. Because it's ingrained and imprinted on each and every one of us. It's accepted and admired when people are lockstep with authority. Tow the government line and you are a patriot, side step just a bit and you are anti-american. It's not really even surprising that there hasn't been some sort of opposition to the status quo. The status quo is what we are all taught in school and on TV and on the radio and just about everywhere else we look. True individualism is dealt with by elevating that individual to obscure celebrity status, where one cannot hope to relate to that person due to their riches and fame, or they are marginalised into oblivion on the fringes of society. Everyone you know is exactly like everyone one else that you know, and that is control. Revolution, in this country, will never happen. Not one brick at a time or all at once. Things may change, and there may be large swings in the way things are done, but it will not be due to those changes being better for the people of our country, no it will be due to those changes being a better means to control the people of our country and the powerful being insightful enough to co-opt those changes to insure their continued control.

It has been a a good long while since I've posted anything worthwhile or edifying. I've been working on several editorials simultaneously and it has been irksome. For now I'll continue to throw up "filler" posts just to maintain a presence here on MercuryToona.

Old banks further my confusion

Apparently the Bank of England has cut interest rates to 1.5%, reminiscent of the US Fed dropping rates to nothing. I understand what dropping the interest rate is supposed to accomplish, but why the hell isn't it working. Our economy is still in free fall, and it appears that the BoE is ready to further drop rates in the next quarter. If it didn't work the first time why bother trying again. Maybe try a different tactic to free up lending or maybe just suck it up and realise we are in a worldwide depression and start saving what little money you may have. The rate cuts seem to be completely ineffective at stimulating lending, much like the bailouts which have accomplished much of nothing aside from furthering our own indebtedness. Maybe business should start slashing prices to an amount that's actually a good deal for people with no money, clearing out a lot of inventory and rejiggering their business models to account for a crippled economy. Currently we don't make much of anything and if you want work you had better be looking in the crap pay service sector, businesses need to be prepared for that and start catering to the paycheck to paycheck demographic if they expect people to buy their shit. For some reason I can't get my head around the need for people to borrow money when they won't likely have a job in which to pay it back. Lending really shouldn't be critical point in a sustainable economy. Good jobs and healthy savings seem much more important to me.
